Long Island Artist - Holly Gordon
Holly GordonHolly Gordon is a working photographer. She comes from the fine arts and holds her Master's Degree from New York University. Her studio is the world. She shoots both digitally and in film. Recently, with the aid of NIK filters she has discovered a new world ... the realm of cyberspace creativity.

Holly is an avid gardener and painter ... only the camera is her paintbrush and the viewfinder her canvas. Her images flourish in a creative celebration of color and light.

She travels the earth from the rain forests of Central and South America and the Galapagos Islands to Australia and New Zealand, Easter Island, Alaska to Antarctica and Monet's Garden in Giverny has called her back many times.

In March 2009 Holly was invited through Patchogue Arts Council to co-curate a photography exhibition of Magnum photographer, Philip Jones Griffiths, renowned for his Viet Nam images of war and peace…and Vietnam and Cambodia became her next global destination.

Holly's work has been exhibited widely--the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, Denise Bibro Fine Art in Chelsea, Manhattan, The Heckscher Art Museum, The Islip Art Museum, Ripe Art and fotofoto Gallery, on Long Island-to name a few.

Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Shutterbug Magazine, National Wildlife Magazine, New York Newsday, The Village Connection and dozens of other newspapers and magazines.

Holly has several museum-quality traveling exhibits: Antarctica Journey to the Extreme; Galapagos Face to Face on permanent display at the Long Island Science Center in Riverhead; HarMONEY: The China Landscape; Monet and Me, currently on view through Islip Art in the Hall; Holly Meets Hokusai, Ode to Kodak: past ... present ... future and Tulips is on deck to debut at fotofoto gallery the month of May 2014.

She is currently working on a career survey to be published in book form. Kodak showcased her film photography on their website for professionals and published her story on their 1000words blog site.

Her prints are made using Epson Stylus Pro Series giclée printers with Epson archival inks and papers.

Also on display at Village Art and Frame Gallery and fotofoto Gallery.

She lives right here in Bay Shore, Long Island, New York.

"Gordon likes to say that she speaks for nature and she does so in a very eloquent way."
